Working With Flowers-03582Working With FlowersA bumble bee, at work among the purple cone flowers or echinacea. Despite the current heat wave, this stand of flowers has continued to bloom and generate pollen for the bees to pick over and gather. Whenever I park my car in the driveway, I usually look over at this group closest to my door. I look for butterflies and bees, seldom disappointed. I used an old lens, a SMC Pentax 50mm f2, on my Sony A6000 via a Voigtlander mount adapter. The lens was a kit lens for many a K1000 film camera. It's surprisingly good wide open at f2. The area of focus is slim, but the creamy-dreamy out of focus area allows for subject isolation and a compositional mood. At least that's what I say.
