This Dragonfly looks to be near the end of its life.
The worn and tattered delicate wings, and the way it was clinging to the Water Lily bloom in the wind, gave me pause to reflect.
Usually, Dragonflies flit off at any close approach. I seldom get the luxury of calmly, intentionally composing a photograph of them. This one grabbed onto the flower and held on for a long time, more than five minutes. Long enough for me to get my images, and call Karen over so she could get her fill.
As I was processing the images, the damaged wings became very apparent.
Life clings on as long as life goes on.
